Seperate Public and Private State Tournaments?
Lengthy article in the Post-Dispatch today about the MSHSAA ballot item for seperate public and private state tournaments. This is just a horrible idea. Why don't we just make everyone happy and abolish the state tournaments altogether. We can just make everyone a winner and give them a medal for trying. If I ruled the world (which would of course make it a better place), there would be one tournament for each sport. Forget this watering down of everything. Everyone is not a state champion. Everyone is not a winner. There is a reason games have winners and losers. Being a State Champion doesn't mean anything if your aren't even the one champion out of your enrollment category.
