Alum Aaron Shafer in NCAA Baseball Tourney

    Aaron Shafer, a TBHS Alum, went 7-2 with a 2.39 ERA in 12 starts for the Wichita State Shockers during the regular season. He fanned 78 batters in 71.2 innings and had one complete game. The Shockers (49-19) will play New Orleans (37-24) at home in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. Wichita State is the #1 seed in their regional and #15 in the country, according to Baseball America

Rau Signs with Missouri Valley

    “It’s a great day to be a VIKING!” Head Coach Chad Lance states; “it is with great pleasure to announce Kent Rau III signing with Missouri Valley College. I feel Kent is an outstanding basketball player but even better person. He has proven to excel in the classroom and on the basketball court. He is what we refer to as the “PACKAGE” the Student, Person and the Player. I am looking forward to seeing him in purple and orange for the next four years and I feel his best is yet to come."
Rau, a 6’1” senior at Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri was a 4 year varsity guard and now claims the All Time Troy 3 point career record holder with 224 made FG. He led the South Division of the Gateway Athletic Conference (GAC) in 3FG with 84 and average of 3.00 per game and finished ranked #1 in large schools St. Louis Metro area and 4th in all classes for the state of Missouri. Plus an average of 2.18 assists and led Troy in steals with 57 at 2.04 steals per game. Rau shot 40.3 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from the three-point range and 75.0 percent from the free throw line.
    Rau played 2 years of AAU basketball for Team Excalibur, coached by Mark Halsell.
    Rau was named first team all conference (GACSouth), first team all-district and first team MSSA East-Central all-region.
During Rau’s 4 year career at Troy, the overall record was 89 wins and 25 losses with Two GAC South Conference Champions, Two District 9 Champions and Elite 8 finish in 2006.
    Rau is the son of Butch and Lissa Rau of Troy.

Trojanettes Fall; Season Over

    The 2007 Girls Soccer season is over for the ladies of Troy Buchanan after a 1-0 loss to Ft. Zumwalt South in the District Semifinals on Wednesday evening.

Soccer: Trojanettes Top Holt When It Counts

    Troy beat Wentzville Holt Monday evening in the first round of the Class 2 District 6 Tournament 2-0. Laura Pryor and Nicole Williams netted the goals with Jennifer Hawkins and Rebecca Schwartz notching assists. Brittany Job made 4 saves in earning the shutout, her 10th solo shutout on the season. #3 Troy will play #2 Ft. Zumwalt South in the District Semifinals Wednesday at 4 pm at Timberland. Ft. Zumwalt West and Timberland will play at 6 in the other District Semifinal. The Final will be Thursday night at Timberland.

Soccer Trojanettes Top Holt

    Laura Pryor scored both goals and Brittany Job made 11 saves to lead Troy to a 2-0 victory over Wentzville Holt on Tuesday.

Soccer: Troy Ties Zumwalt West

    Phil Brock's Trojanettes tied Ft. Zumwalt West 1-1 on Thursday night on the strength of Brittany Job's 17 saves. Lauren Taylor had the goal for Troy with Nicole Williams getting credit for the assist. The Lady Jaguars were ranked 4th in the latest Post-Dispatch Large Schools rankings.

Confirmed: MSHSAA Public, Private Split Fails

    MSHSAA finally updated their webpage to say that the Public/Private vote was shot down. The vote was 321-92 against the split.

Golf: Troy Wins GAC South

    Tyler Peasel, Brad Howell, and Billy Lawrence medaled as the Troy Boys took the GAC South Championship by two strokes over Wentzville Holt, 319-321.
